Book Selection for 2009-2010 School Year:
At the Back of the North Wind By George MacDonald
This classic Christian book is written by George MacDonald, an author, theologian, and pastor during his life. MacDonald, along with his books for adults, wrote many young adult classics. He was an influence on C. S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
“George MacDonald gives me renewed strength during times of trouble--times when I have seen people tempted to deny God--when he says, ‘The Son of God suffered unto death, not that men might not suffer, but that their sufferings might be like his.’”
- Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle in Time) from Walking on Water, Reflections on Faith and Art
