About Charlotte United

Imagine a school where children learn and grow both spiritually and mentally.

Imagine a school where the highest qualified, spirit led teachers work with classroom sizes that afford each child the attention needed to learn.

Imagine a school where children feel loved, valued and connected to a family of friends, while expanding their horizons.

Imagine a school where teachers and faculty, parents and students all work together to shape the future of tomorrow's leaders.

Imagine a CHRISTIAN SCHOOL where two church families come together with over 50 years of combined experience in Christian Education to equip students to become Christian Leaders that will impact their world for Christ!

Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year two of Charlotte’s oldest and most respected Christian Schools have joined forces to become Charlotte United Christian Academy.

Since 1978 Resurrection Christian School (RCS) has served as one of the primary training and equipping ministries of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Resurrection Christian School was founded as a full-scale educational institution, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. RCS closed its Upper School in 1981 after entering into a partnership arrangement with Charlotte Christian School. From that point, the school operated as a primary and middle school until the reintroduction of the ninth grade in 1994. An additional grade was added each succeeding year culminating in 1998 with the school's first official graduating class in 17 years. RCS celebrated its 30 year anniversary in 2009.

Garr Christian Academy & Preschool evolved from Garr Playskool, formed in 1977 as a ministry of Garr Memorial Church for the east Charlotte community. Drawn by the loving atmosphere and nurturing environment, families began pleading for an expansion into elementary grades. Garr Christian School, later to be named Garr Christian Academy & Preschool (GCA), began in 1987 with their first kindergarten class. In just a few years, GCA was providing Christian education for grades pre-K through 8, with a mission to impact our community and the world by developing strong Christian leaders through individualized academic excellence in a nurturing Christian environment where each student feels loved, valued and connected. Throughout their 32 years of ministry, God used GCA to lay a strong Christian foundation in the lives of hundreds that have gone on to impact our world for Christ!

Charlotte United Christian Academy is open to members of Garr Memorial Church and Resurrection Lutheran Church, as well as to members of the community at large and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in its admission policies or in the administration of its educational programs.
